After a morning of good birding (two lifers) and not-as-good bird photography, I put away the big equipment and went for a walk in the foothills to enjoy the scenery. The light was harsh and the sun hot, but the wind kept me cool enough to keep going. A couple hours of wandering amongst the giant saguaros left me a long way from my Jeep and out of batteries. And I was thirsty. This is the beginning of what may become a collection of images from the desert.
