Deep In The Heart of Texas

Just got back from an incredible week long adventure down in Texas with my good friend James Fuller. We met on the Ivory-billed Woodpecker search last year in Florida and said we should do a birding/photography trip on and around his family's ranch in south Texas. So we did! After lots of travel and effort, we were able to make some nice images. I'm very excited about a handful of these new additions to my collection. We saw about 125 species of birds, some javelina, rattlesnakes, and many other critters. We met many friendly birders and locals and even squeezed in a night a Gruene Hall to see some great Texas county music before getting on the plane home. Many thanks to James and his family for all the wonderful hospitality, good stories, and home-cooked food!
